The cynical optimist

A few days ago I wrote a drabble for a contest and completely forgot to enter it. Since I think it is somewhat decent, I’d rather it not go to waste…so here goes nothing…let me know what you think…

The full moon peered down at the world below so full of people running to and fro, laughing and crying but nonetheless getting nowhere. Actors it thought, each one of them, Actors… there was no sincerity in their actions just manipulation as far and wide as the eye could see. However, there in the middle of their nightly display of gross incomptence it noticed a couple dancing to a song no one else heard, swaying sweetly and smiling, maybe with all of humanities flaws, hope and love still lived waiting for the light of the night to shine upon it.
