There were so many people that would have loved to see this day and I’m sorry they weren’t here to see you off to hogwarts. I hope I was enough…God I hope I was enough.
You deserved the world seeing you off…You deserved so much more than I was able to give you. But you know what, enough about me, enjoy your year. Enjoy your friends and the world that will now open up to you. Enjoy the teachers (or not). Be careful of poltergeists! And exploding toilet seats…take chances out there be stupid while you are young but be safe…please be safe. That is all I ask.

Harry paused there, fighting back tears as he remembered it. He thought of Fred, of Sirius, of Lupin and Tonks. He thought of his time at Hogwarts and how many people loved him and how much he tried to channel all their love into his kids. He dipped his quill in the inkwell one more time and wrote a final thought.

Albus, remember just one thing that even in the darkest moments that you will inevitably face in the coming years, you can find your happiness…all you have to do is turn on the light.
