We spend our lives seeking adventure.
We spend our lives wondering when life is going to get interesting, when we are going to be whisked away in a once in a lifetime experience. Life changing stuff.
In those moments where you are sitting by the fire, covered in the warmest blanket cuddled up with family and loved ones, drinking coffee or tea or cocoa and the world just seems to melt away, the clocks stop ticking, the world stops moving, and you wish you could just take that moment. This small moment, and live in it for the rest of your life.
In those moments where you are laughing and joking and forgetting about all the problems that will seek to re-enter your brain when the living stops.
I find so much more joy in the small moments
I find I have lived so much more in those small moments with the people I care about then I would have ever lived had adventure and excitement swept me off my feet.
I think that’s why i love the movies that showcase this more than those that bolster adventure. We should all seek out these small moments, because I truly believe that’s where the real living and real growing happens.
Here’s to many more small moments this holiday season and to many more in your life.
